The History of Smyrna, Tennessee
The town of Smyrna began as an agrarian community with many large farms and plantations flourishing in the area. During the Civil War the town of Smyrna gained importance because of its railroad station located between the larger cities of Nashville and Chattanooga. One of the major events of the war for the town involved the Confederate hero Sam Davis who was captured November 20, 1863, and was hanged by Union forces a week later after being charged with spying and refusing to give up information to the Union Army. The town of Smyrna continued to grow after the War and was eventually incorporated in 1915. During World War II, Sewart Air Force Base was established in Smyrna in 1941. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, the base was a major economic boost to the city; however, by 1971 the base was scheduled for closure.
Community leaders were concerned about the economic impact the closure would have on the city. Determined to overcome the loss of the base, community leaders began recruiting new industry and developed the land as the Smyrna/Rutherford County Airport Authority in 1990. During the same revival period, many new industries moved to the area. The city began a period of growth stimulated by such companies as Better Built Aluminum, and Vi-Jon, Inc. In the early 1980s, building began for a Nissan Motors manufacturing plant, marking the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to build a plant in the U.S. In 1983, the first vehicle was produced. The Nissan plant now employs around 7,000 workers, and produces 500,000 vehicles annually, including the new Hybrid, the Nissan Leaf.

Client's Testimonial
I am confused about the only review on this page. It is so not the truth. I have had Mr. Bennett as my lawyer a couple of times and know him very well. Most attorneys know that they make alot of money of you and that is all that they care about. However, Mr. Bennett really does care about you as a person. He always asks about what is going on in my life, and cares about my well being. In the courtroom he tries his absolute best to get you in the least amount of trouble as possible, and almost always succeeds! I got out of a lot of trouble that i so deserved to be in, and without him I couldn't have. I already have recommended him to other people and will continue to do so forever. Great Lawyer and you will not be disappointed. Hiring him was worth literally every penny!
