Unionville, Tennessee

Covering just over nine square miles, Unionville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Bedford County, Tennessee. As of the 2010 Census, Unionville had a population of 1,368 residents.

Bedford County was carved out of Rutherford County in 1807. At that time, residents living south of the Duck River and the Stones River petitioned the governor to split Rutherford County in two. The new county of Bedford was named after Thomas Bedford, an American Revolutionary War officer and the owner of significant land located in the new county. Bedford County, in turn, has since been reduced in size as the new counties of Coffee, Moore, Lincoln, and Marshall were all subsequently created from Bedford County.

First platted in 1827, Unionville got its name from the union created after two rival settlements agreed to merge into one.

Attorneys Who Specialize in Wills

One of the most precious gifts you can give to your loved ones is to create an estate plan that includes a Last Will and Testament. Having at least a basic Will in place ensures that you will not leave behind an intestate estate when you are gone. Dying intestate (without a Will) is akin to allowing the state to create an estate plan for you because it means the state intestate succession laws decide how your estate assets are distributed. Executing a Will also lets you decide who will oversee the probate of your estate which must occur following your death. If you get married, become a parent, or acquire significant assets you will probably want to expand on your simple estate plan by adding tools and strategies such as an asset protection trust, a Medicaid planning component, or an advance directive to plan for the possibility of your own incapacity. If you are now asking yourself “How do I find an experienced estate planning attorney in my area?” you need look no further than the attorneys at Bennett & Michael. We would be honored to help you with your current and future estate planning needs.
